Who/what got you interested in showing horses?
Melissa Ashbaugh gave me my first riding lesson and first taste of horse shows on her old trusty paint horse named Shadow, who was an absolute saint of a horse. Ever since that first show - I was hooked at a young age of 6 years old & I’ve never stopped to look back since then!

What is your favorite part about doing what you do?
My favorite part is the never ending challenges & always striving to be that 1% better during each ride. But the absolute best part is the bond I’ve been able to create with my horses while chasing down my dreams! That feeling is irreplaceable & can never be replicated.
Our Four In A Line team with our 5th place ribbon out of 70+ teams. We worked for 2-3 years to get this team together & get a ribbon!
Who inspires you within the Horse Industry & Why?
There’s so many people I look up to in the Industry because I think you can learn something from everyone. The one person who has made a huge impact in my mental game this year has to be Nikki Studenski! She’s a local MN gal who owns Never Stop Believing Performance Horses LLC.

What attributes about a horse show outfit are most important to you & why?
It has to be clean, well fitted & the color theme HAS to work with your horse’s color. I love to pick a color that POPS on the horse I’m riding rather than going with something muted!
What are your favorite Sparkle Ridge Tops?
This is hard! I have so many favorites! My top faves have to be Rainbow Rhinestone, southwest punch, & black with silver studs, & of course the HATS!

Don’t change up your riding or training style the day of the show just because you saw someone doing something different at the show. Trust the training you’ve put in leading up to that day. Set personal goals - that have nothing to do with how you place. If you see something at the show you want to try - try it at home first after the show!
